It may not be officially summer, but let's start the summer trail challenge anyway, shall we? Here's why I'm so gung-ho - I recently started a new job with the Chebeague Cumberland Land Trust and now have 31 new properties to explore. 16 of these properties include public trails that I can hike, then share with you...and nothing makes me more excited.
Instead of hopping around the map like I usually do, most of the trails I'll share for the summer challenge will be in Cumberland and/or on Chebeague Island. This is no great sacrifice for me - these trails are beyond gorgeous - but you may have to travel farther, take a ferry, or borrow a boat to reach these destinations (side note, this is why we live in Maine). Of course, you are welcome to just continue exploring the 100 trails listed on our website. I've even updated the list for you, with links to trail descriptions.
If you'd rather have a paper list of these trails in hand, you can purchase my book:
This book includes photos, detailed trail descriptions, recreational use, distance, difficulty, and whether or not dogs are allowed (you can thank Romy for that last bit).
If you are new to the trail challenge, you can find details on our website: https://www.outdoormovementproject.com/trail-challenge
Complete any 5 trails and earn a $25 L.L. Bean gift card while supplies last!
Look for the first trail challenge in your inbox next week and forward this email to any friends who may be interested in joining us!
