Where the Light Lives

When recent news stirred up my kids’ concerns about school shootings (once again), I struggled with how to console them - I can hardly handle it myself. This morning, my coffee and I took a walk in Baxter Woods and found the most luminous pockets of light. I was reminded of the calming effect of nature and its tremendous capacity to reduce anxiety. I realized that we can empower our kids by showing them where they can find the light. Connect them with the outdoors and this will happen effortlessly. It’s a no brainer.
